Beautycounter

Recently, I joined hands with a skincare company called Beautycounter.

Their mission is:

To get safe products into the hands of everyone.

Over the last few years I have started to become more passionate about what goes into my body. Many times we don’t even give it a second thought. Especially when you see organic or certified organic signs you think oh yea that has to be good for me. But that isn’t always the case.

One of my favorite things about Beautycounter is their transparency. You can see the whole ingredient list at any time and nothing is hidden from you. They are consistently working to get laws changed to make our products safer. And this excites me.

As someone who wants a family one day, I love that they have a kids line and will soon be adding more products to it. So my children will grow up with safer products in my home.

They also have a never list. I will attach it to this blog below. It is a helpful tool that you can use to stay away from harmful chemicals.

Here are just a few bullet points for you:

-The European Union has banned 1400 toxic chemicals and the US has banned 11. Beauty counter bans over 1500.
-Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs over 60% of what we put on it.
-It only takes 26 seconds for chemicals to enter your bloodstream.
-The rates of health concerns like cancer, infertility, autoimmune diseases, autism, adhd, asthma, allergies have steadily skyrocketed over the last 50 years. One thing we know has changed is the dramatic increase inner exposure to toxins in our everyday lives.
-Since 1995, childhood cancer is up 25%!
-There are 10,500 indredients used in the cosmetic industry and the vast majority of these have never been assessed for safety or impact on human health by the government or by the industry itself.
-Beautycounter is focused on changing legislation so that toxic chemicals are banned from our personal care products completely.
-The US has not passed a federal law to regulate the ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.
-1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Most will no genetic link to cancer.
-The current generation of US children are likely to to be sicker and die younger than their parents.

It’s amazing what changing just ONE thing in your life can do. Will you join me in making a safer environment of you, your families, and those around?

xoxo,
Tiffany
