This past weekend my older sister, Pamela, came into Savannah and we took a little road trip girls weekend to Swainsboro, GA. I know, I know, I am sure you are thinking the same thing I did. Where the heck is that and why would you go there? Well, we ended up at the Flat Creek Lodge after getting stuck on some dirt road that was flooded and feeling like we were driving into the the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. HAHA But once we arrived at the lodge we were in heaven. Gary met us as soon as we pulled in and helped us check in. He walked us to our room and filled us in on everything we needed to know. He was so kind! We ended up in the Raccoon room. That was awesome. It was very cabinish and rustic. You walked out the back door and you were right on the lake. It was gorgeous. The next morning we woke up to coffee on the porch and a beautiful fall like morning. It was just what these girls needed! We read a TON on the porch, enjoyed a facial, the sauna, and the hot tub at the spa. We had an amazing breakfast and got to walk around in robes! We were pleasantly surprised at lunch with a fruit plate thanks to Matt and it was yummy! We literally spend the whole day napping, resting, reading, praying and relaxing. We didn’t even talk a lot but it was great. We had an awesome dinner at the lodge and the chef even treated us to a free dessert! It was beautiful! Everyone was so friendly. Gary came by and checked on us a few more times that evening and it meant a lot. If you want a peaceful getaway this is the place to go. You can hunt, fish, skeet shoot, and all the fun stuff but I just wanted to relax. It was the perfect getaway just 2 hours from Savannah. I was so thankful for the time with my sister and blessed by God’s creation and the wonderful staff of Flat Creek.
